Meet David
David Blumenthal is the firm’s senior partner and one of the leading forensic accountants in California specializing in family law.
For more than 30 years, David has performed services in all facets of family law and civil matters. In the family law arena, David has testified several hundred times in Los Angeles Superior Court and numerous other courts throughout California. His family law expertise includes cash flow analysis, marital standard of living analysis, business valuations and tracing of separate property assets. In addition to handling all aspects of family law matters, David has provided expert witness testimony in estate matters, bankruptcy matters, and civil matters involving loss of earnings. David has been awarded the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants reflecting his expert knowledge of business valuation; he also holds their newly created Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential; he has prepared and presented hundreds of appraisal reports dealing with the valuation of professional practices, entertainment entities and all other types of commercial entities. David demonstrated his commitment to the philanthropical activities of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation by joining its Forensic and Business Valuation Division.
David has lectured or written on various income tax, accounting and appraisal issues in the family law area through his participation with numerous professional organizations including the American Bar Association Family Law Section, Los Angeles Family Law Symposium, Beverly Hills Bar Association Family Law Symposium, Southern California Family Law Department Judicial Seminar, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Institute of Trial Advocacy, the Judicial Council of California Goodwill Colloquium, and Family Law News, State Bar of California Family Law Section.
After graduating from UCLA in 1967, he was employed in private industry and public accounting positions before joining the predecessor firm to Gursey | Schneider LLP in 1973.
