Gary L. Krausz
Gary Krausz, who joined the firm in 2004, heads the firm's accounting and auditing department and is responsible for the firm's quality control. He provides audit, accounting and consulting services to middle-market businesses and not-for-profit organizations in Southern California.
Gary also handles civil litigation matters and has performed numerous assignments involving fraud investigations, trust and estate disputes, partnership disputes, royalty audits, bankruptcy investigations, misappropriations of funds by fiduciaries, and other commercial disputes. He regularly serves as an expert witness on accounting investigation matters.
He is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA.) He also holds the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential offered by the AICPA. Gary serves on the Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards Technical Committee which is the highest technical committee of the California Society of CPAs on accounting and auditing issues; Gary also helps plan the annual Accounting and Auditing Conference of the CalCPA Education Foundation. Gary regularly teaches undergraduate level accounting courses at UCLA Extension.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining Gursey | Schneider LLP, Gary was an Audit Senior Manager at a "Big Four" accounting firm. His responsibilities included managing and delivering financial statement audit services, and preparing and reviewing full disclosure financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, NAIC statutory reporting, and SEC filing requirements. He also worked on various SEC registration engagements including unregistered securities offerings, and completed due diligence and management advisory services projects. He was the firm National Assurance Instructor, teaching audit and accounting courses to audit professionals and developing course materials.
Outside of work, Gary serves on the Board of Directors and is the Treasurer for The Executives, a support group for the Los Angeles Jewish Home, volunteers for his children's school PTA, and various other community outreach and educational committees of the California Society of CPAs.
