Job Title: HR Manager

Department: Administration

Essential Functions:

Employee Relations/Compliance

  • Oversees and conducts off-boarding procedures for employees, and ensures that all related documents and processes are current and compliant with applicable laws
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, including (but not limited to) OSHA, EEO-1 reporting, FMLA, and unemployment reporting
  • Oversees the leave of absence process – including Covid-19, FFCRA, FMLA, PFL, ADA, Worker’s Comp, etc.
  • Oversees employment eligibility, and ensures that I-9 records and employee statuses are compliance
  • Manages the HR investigation process
  • Conducts employee terminations

Administration & Organizational Development

  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; coordinates with external HR attorney in maintaining employee handbook and other documents
  • Establishes and maintains HR records and reports. Ensures the accuracy of employee files, record-keeping and retention
  • Compiles reports from the HRIS for EEO, ACA, OSHA, and other required reporting
  • Recommends new approaches, process improvements, policies and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency and services performed
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation; Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws

Covid-19 Return-to-Work

  • Develops and implements Covid-19 Return-to-Work protocols and collaborates with management and employees to ensure a safe return to the workplace

Benefits Administration & Workers Compensation

  • Supervises employee benefits administration, including the enrollment process, annual open enrollment, change and termination reporting, monitoring and auditing of benefits invoices, communication of information to employees,

Recruitment & On/Offboarding

  • Works with and supervises the Recruiter in the recruitment/onboarding effort for all employees
  • Conducts exit interviews and ensures all offboarding procedures are accurately followed

Technical Skills & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience working as a Generalist within a Human Resources department or related experience
  • Previous professional services experience preferred
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify patterns of complex risk & liability, challenges and resolves issues, makes effective recommendations on course of action, and understands when to escalate complex issues
  • Demonstrates current working knowledge of federal, state, local regulations/laws and firm policies
  • Effective organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Operates with a sense of urgency
